Register Now For The 2010 Annual Golf TournamentThe 2010 Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sunday May 2, 2010 at the Old Trail Golf Course in Crozet, VA. Registration begins at 11:30, with a 1:00 Shotgun Start. Range is open (balls included) and box lunches available with drinks at 11:45. Captain's Choice Format with prizes and awards presented immediately following. Women in Sports (WinS) Hosts First Doubles Tennis Event WinS hosted its first doubles tennis event. It was a fun day of tennis with a 18-team draw on Sunday, October 18th, 2009 at the Glenmore Country Club! Format: Compass Format, No Ad Scoring, Timed Play, 4 Matches Guaranteed. Provided: Balls, Gift Bag, Prizes for the Top Teams, Snacks and Drinks. Registration was $35/ player and $70 / doubles team. Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Click HERE for details! WinS Initiates Dads For Daughters!WinS is proud to announce the creation of their ‘Dads for Daughters’
initiative, under the leadership of Tom Eklund (dad of golfer Lauren
from Albemarle High School). WinS hopes that the ‘Dads for
Daughters’ program will provide opportunities for fathers of
female high school athletes in the Charlottesville/Albemarle area come together in support of their daughter’s athletic pursuits. The basic
premise is that these Dads will create unique activities to promote and
support their daughters as high school athletes and will participate in WinS'

Since it's inception in 1997, WinS provides 3 scholarships each year to girls from 6 area high schools that participate in tennis, volleyball, softball, lacrosse, field hockey, swimming, basketball, cross country, indoor track, soccer, and track and field. Recognition is also given annually to the outstanding female athlete from each school that has a team in each of these sports. WinS DonationsWinS is always accepting contributions and donations.
