2011 Brittany Haun

Brittany is a senior at Monticello High School and described as a person with traits of hard work, honesty, dedication, integrity and a strong sense of community by her Athletic Director. She has been a 3-sport athlete since the 8th grade, playing field hockey, basketball and lacrosse and was captain of all three of these teams. In addition, she was her Senior class Vice-President and held numerous offices including President of her school's Key Club. Brittany's involvement with the Big Brother Big Sister Program has led her to Cale Elementary School where she has tutored two second grade students which she describes as one of her most rewarding activities.

Academically, Brittany accumulated a 3.8 un-weighted GPA while taking 5 AP courses and participating in an internship with the Department of Technology. Brittany Haun will be attend Virginia Tech in the fall of 2011

2010 Caroline Megargel

Caroline is a senior at St. Anne's-Belfield School and will be attending Vanderbilt University in the fall. She was a member of the Field Hockey team for four years, captain her junior and senior years and received First Team All-LIS in 2009. Caroline also participated in Lacrosse for three years serving as captain her senior season as well as All-LIS for two years. She was also an Academic All American her senior year.

Caroline was involved with extra curricular activities that included Peer Mentoring in the middle school, leading the Community Forum at STAB and 120 hours+ of service time with Bridges to Community in Nicaragua during the summer.

She finished her high school career with the highest GPA in her class (4.27) and was a National Merit Scholarship Winner in 2010.
